Hi all...having set the map to my location, when i shut down then restart up the map isn't saved where i set it....also can't we still not rotate the map....(updated from 3.13 to 5.00.065)
-
Westie,
It works just the same as previous versions. Do you close down using the red X or do you use File/Exit, use the latter, that saves all.
Have you set your Home Location in Preferences/Home Location or did you just have the map set to cover your area, if you closed down correctly it should open up where you left it.

thanks for the reply...it doesn't matter which way i shut down.....when i was using 3.13 i used the red x, then it started where i left off....
-
On this subject, could we please get rid of the "Save changes to...map?" dialogue whenever we switch between full-screen and normal views, and when closing the program? It slows things down a lot.
-
yes i get....the " do you want to save changes" every time i shut down
-
Cant say I have seen that dialogue and the map always opens up where I left it. So much so that if I have been looking elsewhere on the network I make sure that I go to home location before closing down.
Rod for my info, how do you get full screen view? Forget it just put it into full screen and back and no dialogue came up
Alan
-
It happens every time when I switch to and when I switch from map full screen view - and I use that a lot, as well as when closing down. It's done this ever since the first Beta.
-
Just press ESC
-
Thanks Rod,
I see that you have saved your screen to Benelux.ml4 at some stage, may have something to do with it. If you change to the default screen what happens.
Alan
-
Westie, does it open up at a random location or the same place each time and what map does it state in the dialogue box.
Alan
-
Just changed to World - makes no difference - still get the Dialogue box each way
-
Ah - just changed to Default and the message has gone away - so that message might be a feature, not a bug!
-
Rod, Sorry, I changed world to default in my previous post can you advise? Noted your last post, I presume that it is a prompt to save changes to your preferred map if you move away from the default.
Alan
-
it opens up to the east coast, but if i press home it corrects itself......cheers rod
-
Westie, what map does it state in the dialogue box? and does changing to the default map have any effect?
Alan
-
Hi Rod....if i change to the default map..then set the map to my location ( pressing home ) zoom in the software runs ok....its just when i exit the program...then start it back up... it will not start back up where i left it.....3.13 version seem to do it...thanks
-
Hi Rod....it doesn't matter if its set to default or barnsley......i have to click home to center it.....also i,ve got a minimize, restore and red x in the top left of the map when it starts up....which i click on to start the map
-
Just checked (twice) and the default map is remembering where I was when I close down and restart, even though I'm not getting the Save Map message any more.
-
it doesn't matter which map i use..default or whatever....it will not restart back where it shutdown....going to try a few things.....reload 3.13 set it back up .......then try 5.00.065 on another pc ( full install )......ps 5.00.065 looks no different to 3.13 apart from the radarbox24.com above the map...thanks
-
There was no intention to getting it looking different.

Westie,
Having a minimise, restore and red X top left of the map would signify somethings not right in your set up as there should be nothing top left of the map. The only place these should be is the top right of the screen where they normally are in a windows program. Can you show a screen shot of your screen as it would appear something is needing adjusted but I cannot think what it will be.
Does pressing the restore do anything as its as if it is minimsed
Alan
-
Hi Rod...by pressing restore in the top left of the map starts the map up, other wise its just blank...thanks
-
sorry see above post...Alan
-
Once you click the top left restore and the map opens up do the minimise, restore and red X stay there or do they go away and are the ones top right of the screen there as well
Also what happens when you press the restore button top right?
Alan
-
Hi Alan...the restore in the top left of the map it starts the software up....i've just uninstalled the software and gone back to 3.13....all is working ok now........thanks all for your advise and comments i'll stick with 3.13 for now.......
-
Cheers Westie,
There isnt a restore or anything else at the top left of the map. An email to Support may be advisable especially when no one else has the same problem.

Hi Alan.....update.....installed the full exe 5.00.065 into a different folder on c drive....the program runs fine..... starts and shuts down ok....thanks
-
Computers are great things, when all is well with them.. Glad its sorted

Using MENU - WINDOW - RECORD DESKTOP should save map, etc. I don't have access to my Radarbox PC at the moment, so can't test if this still works okay, but it's worth a try.
