We continue imporving our server system by adding some new redudant devices and faster processors.
Because of this we've again changed IP address for our main server which my cause connection problems to some users during the next 24 hours. We apologize for this fact.
The good news is that we are signficantly improving our infrastructure to enable further growth on our AirNav RadarBox and ShipTrax networks.
-
The last time it was a week before your new address was propagated to ISPs in Canada. Can you suggest a public DNS server that I can use until things stabilize and what is the new address?
-
The new server is located at 74.55.96.226
Ask you ISP to do a DNS flush.
You can also do this on your computer by going to your command prompt and type:
ipconfig /flushdns
DNS propagation should never take more than 24 hours.
-
AN,
As you say, connections to the server are especially slow today however there would appear to be an additonal problem in that the 'logos' page had entries for yesterday the 5th January which do not appear to be there today the 6th January. The last entries go back to the 4th January or have the 5th January entries been moved or accidentally deleted by the server problems ?
Eventually got this to post !
-
Just got the forum back along with RB24, still no network yet.
Alan
-
Got the forum back by copying 74.55.96.226 into the address bar. Is there anway of doing the same for RB and getting the network back?
Alan
-
Can you suggest a public DNS server
You can always use Googles Public DNS, see https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/

Still no network here in Toronto Canada. 10:45 AM EST
regards,
-
I dont think it is available anywhere yet, certainly isnt for me here in Scotland
Alan

Unable to use 3D (again !!) even though the status on the AirNav website says online.
I would now like some information/ reassurance from AirNav Systems as to the future reliability of being able to use the 3D aspect of my aircraft monitoring setup. No 3D, no need of Radarbox, simple as that. Quite frankly, since before Christmas the service from AirNav Systems has not been what I would expect.
I am well aware of the reasons why these out outages have taken place. I have no interest in the web based offering being developed at the moment and as mentioned in a post from the RB24 forum:
RadarBox24.com and AirNav RadarBox (the hardware system) are completely different solutions.
It seems unfair that one product should impact on the other.
From an increasingly dissatisfied customer.

No network here - not an IP issue
-
We are still waiting for the new IP to be propagated all over the world. Theoretically it could take up to 48 hours.
We have our extrenal/outsourced monitoring devices and we see that is has propgated to 75% of locations right
now.
The network is fully working but couldn't be available until propagation is finished. Every single feature (3D etc) will of course be fully working after this server upgrades are finished (in 24-48 hours) and we will be ready to solve any extra pending issues that might happen.
-
I can understand that network servers go down occasionally, but I do have a concern about some aspects of AirNav products where we've paid a one-off, up front fee, that will only work with a live connection to AirNav servers:
- Radarbox 3D functionality.
- ShipTrax (the 2 or 4 week rule).
Maybe AirNav should redesign these products to be more tolerant to server/network failures. Something for me to test in the next beta(s).
-
Well said that man !! (tarbat)
-
Thats exactly what we are doing, the last server issue over xmas should not have happened. We are now investing in having multiple server and network points so if there is a failure on one we can use the other instantly to limit downtime.
The RadarBox 3D is Google license limitation.
-
No network for most of today so no ShipTrax, its running ok now, if only the two or four week rule was fact not fiction
-
Still no weather or photo`s available
-
no network at all in the Netherlands
-
No network in Cape Town
-
Just to confirm the network server is online and working, if its not accessible from your location its due to the IP propogation. Try and flush your DNS or restart your machine and it should try and pick up the latest DNS entries your ISP has.
-
Is anyone actually getting network traffic. I carried out a DNS flush yesterday and today and restart my machine each day and still no network here on the BT Internet around 30 hours after the change.
Alan
-
Still nothing here in toronto canada either. My network box is red with no connection. 5:10AM EST
regards,
-
No 3D after just starting PC
-
2E0FLP, are you getting the network, if not you wont get 3D
Alan
-
Alan
I don't subscribe to the network (paid enough already !) and I have been able to use 3d .
Cheers
Paul
-
No network in Moscow
-
Paul,
Are you normally able to get 3D without an internet connection. I can't as the software is unable to access the server so dont get the option for 3D, same as with no Airnav network.
Alan
-
Alan
No internet access, no 3D ! It's a pain ! My internet access is fine.
Cheers
Paul
-
So = the issue is not one of propagation of the DNS
-
So unless the network server is working you wont get 3D whether you subscribe to the network or not.
Alan
-
I am well aware of that. I was simply pointing out that the 3D functionality is not working contrary to what is stated on the AirNav Systems status page, ie "Online"
Still, it's nice to see that the Radarbox24 website is working OK so the the world can get info/data OK but those that choose to pay cannot, strange eh !!
Cheers
Paul
PS Have just fired up my laptop and the 3D is not available on that aswell.
-
That status page refers to the network not 3D functionality
Alan
-
3d is not 'working' here either (EHAM)
-
Frank
Do you have the network up ??
Here in Zoetermeer no way,so people cant have the 3d without the network
-
I have not recieved an alert email since 07:38 Sunday 6th(GMT)
Graham
-
Here's an interesting one, I was just checking the Network Status page on the AirNav Systems website, did a page refresh (F5 key in IE9) when the status indicators changed, did it a few times in quick succession and got different results each time !
Have attached 3 snips of the webpage after refreshing ! Wow ! I can get the network status to read what I like !!
Cheers
Paul
-
I am starting to wonder if I should renew my network subscription again the next time it comes due. With all the problems lately....We are paying for this service and it is not being provided. I am a huge supporter of Airnav and use it for hours and hours a day...(Just upgraded to a 39" LED television as my display) Lets get things back on track here....
-
According to the information / status that we have and from testing here 3D is working OK.
We will have one of our developers looking at this thread.
-
We continue to monitor this situation. It seems the new IP DNS propagation is taking longer than expected and we are checking this at this time. The server is working OK and no delays/outages in network data.
For those who want to know what is DNS propagation:
http://www.webhostinghub.com/support/domain-names/dns-nameserver-changes/what-is-dns-propagation
-
For those who are unable to connect please try and ping www.airnavsystems.com (You can this by running the command prompt tool and then ping www.airnavsystems.com )
If the IP address listed is not 74.55.96.226 then it means your DNS has not been updated by your ISP, this should occur soon (time depends on your ISP)
-
Ping gives me 74.55.96.226 but still no network :(
-
Hi Development,
Just tried and received perfect ping responses from www.airnavsystems.com as 74.55.96.226. But no network here.
And please explain me one simple thing. As far as I see, RB24 works perfectly. So, our local machines know which server address they need to send their local traffic information to display on RB24. Why can't this server send full network information to our machines? Is it a different server?
Nick
-
I am looking into why 3D authorization isn't working for those users that are pinging the correct IP address (74.55.96.226). I will post an update as soon as I have more information.
-
Attached ping report from here in UK
-
Also getting correct ping response in UK but still no normal network - (Don't have 3D anyway) Appreciate this is about upgrades - however could we not have a post on the discussion forum telling us when and how long you intend network to be down if work is planned (if you did I'm afraid I missed it). Then we won't feel the need to be checking all day to see what is wrong with the network - and obviously not finding the forum to find out - looking forward to the return of a secure connection ...
-
Could those of you that have RadarBox3D please try again and tell me if you can now launch RB with the 3D enabled now? The "network data" is a different problem and I'm still looking into this issue. If you prefer, you can email me directly at [email protected] if you feel email is more convenient for you (I will post a summary here in this topic so nothing gets lost by communicating via email outside of the forum).
-
Dev,
Ping response 74.55.96.226 but no network
Alan
-
The 3D button is there while the programe opens up. However it disappears when the map opens as there is no network connection so unable to launch
Alan
-
Just re-started RadarBox, no 3D
Cheers
Paul
-
Thanks for testing Alan & Paul. The new server appears to have a different header response to all network requests and it's causing a problem on the client software. I am working to see if I can get the header to match what it was on the previous server. I may need you to try again shortly.
-
Airnav 3D Dev,
I get the correct Ping response of 74.55.96.226, but no network. I do however get the 3D button and it works OK.
Please reboot all your servers to fix this asap, as Im getting bored looking at a blank screen.
Can I ask that you add 3D tumbleweed to the radarbox screen, when your network goes down in the future ;-)
regards,
Jon
-
We have found out a configuration issue with the new server that could be the reason for these problems. We are investigating it at this time. More news to follow.
-
Network now back on line
Alan
-
3D now workin as well
Alan
-
We are happy to start receiving positive feedback on this. Pls report to us any other problems you may be finding and we will be correcting them.
-
Network back up and running here in Toronto Canada 17:30 EST
Good job!
-
3D Now working here,
Cheers !
Paul
-
We are still experiencing some problems with a server application and to deug this we might need to bring the RadarBox network service up and down during the next 24 hours. We aplogize for this fact.
-
Network working in Cape Town, 3D also working
-
@satbopper No, I do not have Network up, but do I really need a Network abo ? That's news to me... Still no 3D
-
Frank,
Everything should be all working fine now, we haven't had any issues since last night so if your 3D is not working can you send us your RB login id and we will check whether your counter needs to be reset.
-
Is the server being worked on at this time as I am not getting the network
Alan
-
Alan
Network was working till about 45 minutes ago but was on 5 minutes delay only. Also noted that some updates have been lost (e.g. B752 A9C-DHE) so would assume they are frantically beavering away to iron out some issues.
X
-
This is getting beyond a joke !!!!
Also still no explanation as to why when I refresh the Network Status page on the website I get different messages almost every time. Do you have a random message generator or something ? Or are you hosting the website with different hosts and I am picking up old pages ?
Anyway, you certainly seem to have your work cut out, best of luck ! I think I shall be investing in another brand receiver very soon and happily share my data with another network.
-
Hi X
Thought they would be going by the notice on the other thread. Just checked, A9C-DHE is in the d/b.
Alan
-
Paul,
I presume you have not seen this notice from over the page.
We are still experiencing some problems with a server application and to debug this we might need to bring the RadarBox network service up and down during the next 24 hours. We aplogize for this fact.
I would imagine you are getting cached info from your ISP but only guessing. I tend to presume if I am not getting the network it isnt up.
Alan

Alan
db populated with A9C-DHE last night but it has disappeared this morning!

Could be my end as I have just been working on my aerial and box position and have improved my reception dramatically but seem to have a dry solder joint where the usb cable goes in the back of the box and the hardware disconnects if the box is moved......going out to get a soldering iron. Thats the trouble with the sandpit heat and humidity!

Network down again in Cape Town

From earlier

Alan
-
I wonder if my network subscription is going to be extended by the number of days it has been down.
-
Hi all,
I agree with Chris11, we should get at least a free month, and possibly more as a good will gesture. My network has been up & down like a whores drawers since before Christmas, I thought it was something I've been doing wrong, but apparently I am not as daft as I first thought, except maybe in buying a Radarbox?.
Trevor.
-
I had no alerts on radar box since sunday in kent
Any updates
Paul
-
No network here in UK .....airnav are we getting a refund or extension on our subscriptions ?
-
Our key is get to the server back up and running to full capacity first then we will look into the time that the server was offline and work out a solution.
-
I still have no alerts on my radar box in kent
Can you help
Paul
-
Paul, please note the following from earlier
We are still experiencing some problems with a server application and to debug this we might need to bring the RadarBox network service up and down during the next 24 hours. We aplogize for this fact.
Until the server is back up and running correctly you will not get alerts as they come from the server

Good evening I still do not have any alerts still in london
Has the server been working or do I have a problem
Paul
-
The server is working, suggest you contact support for advice
Alan
-
Come in from work and pleased to see network is up again ...
...In the last 10 minutes my newtwork flights have gone from 1026 down to 2 - long enough that map cleared - back up to 1026. then again a few minutes later flights dropped to 4 then 1 and back up again. As I type lost network again - no flights ---. Anyone else having issues. Is work still ongoing on the server saga or is it still not properly mended yet?
-
Mike there is a problem with a part of the server. Consultants are being brought in to look at it to unearth the problem and recify it. It has been causing minor outages as you describe which is annoying but is still giving a service.
Alan
-
We are doing our best to have the service stable as soon as possible. We apologise profusely for the issues caused over holidays and last week.
-
Sorry I just need a answer from airnav support is the server down
As I got no alerts in london
Paul
-
No the server is up
-
Sorry its working ? So why no alerts
-
Havent a clue, support might be able to help
-
The server is online, we are establishing the main services are stable first before enabling others and checking functionality of others.
-
Thank u support I still have no aerts any idea when it will come on
Paul
-
I see that the network status shows online but I am still unable to access in U.S. I get message saying my account has expired when my account was re-charged last month. Will contact support.
David
-
A small udpate on the work we are developing on our server: we are still, on a daily basis, developing and fine tuning some new software to be used on our main flight data server. It is much more stable now in terms of data processing but some taks remain to be done which may cause some data outages.
We will keep our user base posted when we have more news.
-
Sorry to bother you airnav develpment thursday
Morning 5-22am in london still noalerts
Is that right?
Paul
-
I'm getting really upset with this have I got a problem with my computer or is the server still not working oin london yes or no
Sorry
Paul
-
Paul,
No change from last night, server working, alerts not yet, same with services such as automatic log reporting.
Alan
-
Still unable to access network in U.S. and continuing to receive message that my account has expired, yet, I have been re-charged another semi-annual fee. I have yet to receive an acknowledgement from support and have sent inquiries via both the contact form and the email. Any help or insight on this appreciated.
-
Hi David.
You should be able to connect now as well.
-
The matter has been taken care of and I able to access network here in U.S. I appreciate the time and effort to resolve this issue....Thanks You
-
Just a quick update: we are still working on our server and will continue during the next few days.
Things are much more stable now but we are still fine tuning many routines/algorithms. We don't expect any more serious network downtimes.
Again we would like to, in the name of our team, say thanks for all your patience regarding all this work.
Development work continues as we expect to bring RadarBox to the iPad and iPhone soon.
At the same time we will have very good news for the RadarBox/Windows users.

-
Good evening airnav systems still noi alerts in london
Any idea when it will go back on line
All the best
Paul

We are having problems with the Alert emails and we are working on that.
The network continues to run without any problem.
-
Email/Alert problems corrected.
-
Good morning 5.30am in london still no alerts
Paul
-
its also downloading blank white pictures on the network !!!!
-
Bob,
When you state plain white picture what do you mean. I am getting photos to display if there is one. Does it show downloading photo then photo not available then either shows a phot or then the previous wording disappears. Looks like the photo not available should stay here this is appropriate if that is the case.
Alan
-
Still nothing on radar box alerts in london
Time 1120pm is the problem with my computer
Paul
-
Is the network down for Ireland still????? My Network isn't connecting. I see lots of posts about changing Server IP's etc...is there something I need to do to reset my system to allow Network Access?
-
ok, you can ignore that last question....my network just came back on line. Don't ask me how as I didnt do anything but hey, all's good again!
-
Paul, I just set up an alert for an email and a popup alert. Got the popup but no email so guess the email alerts are not working
Alan
-
Hi Alan
this was purely on new pictures not already in my folder...
was checking network flights early this morning & it went through the pic d/load process & looked like it had downloaded a picture but nothing showed, not even the "photo not available" text, I thought that a bit strange as I was also getting "not available" on other airframes as I was looking through......... so on checking my photos folder I found about 20 odd blank/white pics the same dimensions as the photos????
cheers
-
Thanks Bob, I have checked my photo folder and found similar. Have advised Airnav and awaiting a reply.
Alan
-
I am having the same pic problem to.

Hello
The email alerts are still not working here either. We have not had any email alerts since the 5th. A range alert has just been generated but no email - Again!

Paul

Paul,
As stated in the reply above yours Airnav have been advised regarding the alerts problem and I have no idea of the time frame.
Alan
-
It is being investigated and we hope to have it resorted asp.
-
Alerts should work fine now (our email server is working perfectly). Pls confirm if the error is still happening.
-
& the blank picture downloads?
-
No automatic email reports sent to mode-s forum last night. Will check for tonights
Alan
-
I set up some alerts to test the system. I have it set to Show a Notification Message and for email notification.
Have received the notification messages OK but have yet to receive an email.
Looks like some further checks are required. Its either not receiving the email request or the email is not being sent.

Paul
-
Paul,
They are not working, the forum will be advised when they are
Alan
-
Sorry alan do they know what's causing that
Paul
-
I would imagine if they did it would be sorted Paul. I wouldnt think the would just leave it if they knew what was causing it. It wil be being worked on as it doesnt only affect alerts.
Alan
-
Good morning airnav could you give us a update on the radar box alerts situation
Still nothing
Paul
-
Paul,
We will notify you when its rectified, rest assured its being looked at.
-
No 3D AGAIN !!!!!

You wont get any 3D as the server is down for maintenance
Alan
-
Any idea as to what they are working on Alan? Any ETA for the work to be done? Thanks.
-
Sorry i dont know any more than you do. Hopefully they are fixing the problems with alerts etc.
Alan
-
Ok, thank you.
-
Network now back up and running
Alan
-
Still no alerts 6.51 pm
Paul
-
Quick curious question since i'm not really getting much of a response on the FB group. This doesn't really have anything to do with Radarbox either but I don't see another forum for other AirNav products. With 1 % traffic setting I get accurate flights. But with 100% I get flights that haven't flown in days, months or years. What is the sweet spot?
-
No Network all day, states reconnecting in 30 secs starts counting gets to 4 and then repeats the process.
-
Good morning airnav devlopment would you be able to give us a update about radar box alerts and what the problem is sorry to be a pain
Look forward to your reply
Paul
-
Also here still no mail alerts. Is for a long time now :-(
-
Its the same for me as well, I haven't had an alert since January 5th. It would be nice to get some sort of response from an AirNav employee as to what is going on specifically with the email alerts, since its the primary feature I use, being that I have a life away from my Nav box, and home desk.
-
We have stated that it is being investigated and we hope to have this rectified soon. There is no need to keep posting asking us the same question, as advised earlier we will post once we have rectified the issue.
-
Considering the money we all paid for the Hardware/Software package, the same money that goes into your pocket, I think that warrants us a bit of patience, candor, and some further explanation in regards to the issue on your part, AirNav Support.
We all know your "investigating the issue".. some details would be nice.. and an ETA other than "soon" might be in order as well. That might even get some people to stop asking the same questions...over and over. Just a thought..
-
There is no ETA as of yet as we are still trying to rectify the issue.
The technical issue: As you may recall we had issues with alerts, emails in the past with many not being sent. Some customers have setup there alerts to send emails as soon as new flight is picked up, in total with many RadarBoxes across the world such a large amount of alert emails being sent this puts extreme pressure on the server/mail server to cope with this load. Many ISPs then indentify us as spam mail server incorrectly. We had created a different way to handle this situation on our old server.
The new server we are using now, this needs to be redeveloped to handle the differences in the server setup. We are doing our best to get this changed and isn't a simple "flick the switch" job.
For the future the new software version will have an option to bypass our servers for mails and for the customer to use there own mail server.
-
Thank you so much for the info. Its sounds like a big job. Thank you for the date
Paul
-
Thank you AirNav Support, I appreciate the detailed update. Sorry I was a bit cranky in my previous post, just missing my alerts and not enough coffee yet. One of those mornings.
And my apologies if all that info was clearly stated somewhere else previous, I haven't seen it, there's lots going on for you guys right now with the new site/service, and lots to read to get all the details. The ideas being thrown around about RB24 Beta and all look promising.
The idea's for the new software sound great too!
Thank you again.
-
>>
For the future the new software version will have an option to bypass our servers for mails and for the customer to use there own mail server.<<
That will be the way to go. With the JSTARS app you can put in your ISP SMTP details and its alerts are sent direct from your ISPs mail servers.
Graham

If I submit a support ticket but fail to recieve a support notification that there will be a response within 24 hours does that mean that AirNav has blocked my e mail from sending in support tickets or questions to [email protected] even though I am a active and paying member?
-
russianspd,
If you don't get a response PM us the details of your ticket and we will investigate. It may have been deemed as spam.
-
Thank you airnav supportfor the response on the alerts
Question when the alerts come back will I have to do anything on my radar box or just leave it
-
When I go to PM you it tells me I can't access that section.
-
Hi airnav what's the latest are you making good progress
Paul
-
We are making good progress. The network is much more stable now as well as all other software services.
We are still working hard on the server redundancy issues and we will install some new hardware during the next 2 weeks.
-
Runway 31 has been kind enough to pass on my support e mail to you AirNav DEV since I wasn't able to PM you the details.
-
Are the photo downloads now working properly???
I turned mine off when the blanks started appearing.......
cheers
-
Still not sorted, server work ongoing
Alan
-
At this time we are performing some important maintenance tasks on our network server. It will remain up and down for the next 12 hours until a new server is finally installed. We will keep our users updated.
-
Any Idea when "alerts" will be working again ?
-
Good morning airnav support can we have a update how things are going
Are you making good progress have you a time frake when alerts will come back
Many thanks paul
-
We have good news: the server is much more stable at this time and we are gradually adding the final features.
We will keep you posted.
-
Thank you.
-
Network not responding either on Airnav or Radarbox24 is this due to server problems.
-
The network is operating OK at 14:45
Alan
-
Does that mean if the network is working so is the alerts?
-
No, as previously advised, all users will be informed when the problem is corrected. The stability of the server comes first and when that is assured ither services will be added back on.
Alan
-
Good evening airnav any update and timeline on alerts
Many thanks
Paul
-
Any update on taking a "chillpill" Paul? Alan has said they will update accordingly when things are fixed.
-
Hi Alan,
Spent a bit of time today digging out EGCC arrivals/departures which are missing from the db, from various sources.

Good morning airnav any update or time frame when alerts will be on
Paul

We are today performing some important maintenance on our network servers.
This will cause some minor outages. After this the email alerts will be working.
-
Tonight we are upgrading our main servers. This may result in service disruptions. We will inform you when we have more news.
-
Servers upgraded. Some minor outages may happen today but from now on things will only get better.
Tks for you understanding and patience during all this process.

Not as far as I am aware, tried one flight so far and got the desktop notification alert but no email
Alan

Same as Alan
-
What date did the email function first fail? Is that now a full month without the email alerts function not working or was there some minor uptime during January??
-
Here also not working

Ok please try again now. We will monitor server logs to check what might be wrong.
-
Still no alerts

Got 2 flights on the alert but no mail
-
Can you tell us which version of the RadarBox software you are using?
-
Version 3.13 version
-
Hi AN Support
Here version 4.03 ... not working daily log emails since 2012 ... from 3 different computers..
Even when Automatic Report Log always says that it was sent OK... same thing in manual send...
Radarbox always says "Message Sent with success" ... but obviously it does not says to whom or to were
the email was sent....
Nor automatic, nor manual nor to yahoogroups nor to any other email account.
AN changed Server to a new IP address .. to 96.31.64.2 ...
So it seems that AN receives data from our radarboxes log ... but we unhappily NO !
Obviously it is not due to some problem in my firewall o something else here ....
So... why not to AN do "an elegant" fix to this cumbersome situation and release a version on which
every RB user will be allowed to choose by his own the way on sending his emails only to whom he own wants and in doing so, everyone will stay only with his own problems and we .. the users will at last
have the emails working ... same for alerts ..
Cheers : Juan
-
Hi airnav support still no alerts in kent
Do you know what's causing the
Problem
Paul
-
We are in direct contact with Juan to find out more about this situation.
-
Question for other members are you getting
Alerts yes or no
-
Looking back that is one calendar month that alerts and logs emails have been down. Which is circa 8% of the year. Consequently airnav will only get 92% reliability for the year max in 2013 for that part of the system.
-
All we won't to know is the problem
Our end or there end
-
Humm... it seems that my post was not posted....
so Trying once again ...

I still get the "blank" images and I analyzed the HTTP-post to the servers, it looks like this:
Node 1: IP = xxx.xxx.x.xxx, TCP port = 4918
Node 2: IP = 96.31.64.2, TCP port = 80
GET /cgi-bin/ANLV_SV/ANLV_SV_user.exe?usgetphoto=0&usverify_name=PGANRBxxxxxx&usversion=ANRB403®search=SE-ISY&modes=4A8130 HTTP/1.1

Now checking the URL given i the HTTP-post gives this:

http://www.airnavsystems.com/cgi-bin/ANLV_SV/Photo/SE-ISY.jpg -> gives a correct image
http://www.planespotters.net/Aviation_Photos/photo.show?id=131709&source=rb24 [correct URL]
http://www.planespotters.net/&source=rb24 [incorrect URL (Error 404), although it's in the NAVDATA-db that way]
Just a reflection, maybe it can bring some light to the problem...
Niklas
-
Havent a clue Paul, all I know is that they are working on it and when they have it sorted we will be advised.
Alan
-
I have forward your post to Airnav Niklas
Alan
-
Done some more digging on the "blank" image problem and it seems to be related to entries in the NAVDATA d/b.
The one thing in common on the aircraft that have "blank" images downloaded is that one or both photolinks is
"incorrect", i.e. it has a link like "http://www.planespotters.net/" or "http://www.planespotters.net/&source=rb24".
Aircraft with both links correct is downloaded properly.
So a cleanup of incorrect LK & LK2 entries in the aircraft table are needed.
Niklas
-
Thank goodness we cant do them!! I would imaging the 2nd one should put up a *Photo Not Available"
Alan
-
Thank goodness we cant do them!! I would imaging the 2nd one should put up a *Photo Not Available"
Something must have went wrong on the migration from airliners.net -> planespotters.net. I see several entries in the aircraft table that have column LK/LK2 as "http://www.planespotters.net/" or "http://www.planespotters.net/&source=rb24". These field should be "blanked" out. Being a programmer myself and using databases in my work, this seems to me like a "one-liner" of code for Airnav to fix on the central server (where I image the NAVDATA d/b is built from). If these incorrect field values are corrected then no image will download and the program will automatically show "Photo not available". :-)
Ps. Alan I think you missed my entry regarding 3964E6 in the database update request thread Ds.
Niklas

No, just forgot to reply
Alan

Niklas
Forwarded your coments onto Dev to ensure he sees them as he is busy with the servers.
Alan
-
Niklas,
How did you get the quotes tab to work ?
See the other thread !
-
EK01,
I added the tags manually: [ quote="name" ] quoted text [ /quote ]
The extra spaces before/after the [] chars must be removed, had to add them so I can show them here.
Niklas

Good morning airnav systems would
You be so kind to let us know about
The progress being made on radar box
Alerts sorry to be a pain
Paul
-
Thanks Niklas. Bit too advanced for me !
Ian
-
Regarding this one I would kindly ask for all the users that still don't receive email alerts, to send us a PM to "AirNav Development" with your email address / the email you are using to send alerts to (we will use this to test the new procedures we are developing).
-
Hi airnav devlopment still no alerts my email is
[email protected]
Paul
-
We are aware of that. We found exactly what the problem is and we are correcting it now.
-
This morning still no alerts here in Holland
-
Airnav Dev what is your email address so I can send PM as requested?
Thanks
Graham

Try the PM button under you name Graham, bottom row right.
If however you need to email press the email button on Devs post
Alan

Thanks found the icon button.

Good afternoon airna any uPdate on aerts. Paul

Good evening airnav has the alerts been
Fixed is there a time scale when it
Will go back to normal
All the best
Paul
-
Not yet fixed. We are still working on this and we will post here news when we have them.
-
Is very quite about te status of the mailalerts
-
We are still working on the mail alerts issue. We are doing our best to try to solve this situation ASAP but it is related to an Internet Software glitch that was not reported before to the the company that develops the software. We will do our best to try to fix this problem as soon as we can.
-
Thanks for the information update!
-
I'm not an expert but have you checked your PTR records with your ISP as on using the link below you don't seem to have any?
http://emailtalk.org/PTR.aspx
No PTR record can cause emails to be treated as spam.
-
A small update regarding the email alert system failure: we know exactly what the problem is and we've been working hard to find a way of having it corrected. It is an incompatibility between the procedure used on the RadarBox windows client software and our new internet server. We have 1 expert in the internet server software working daily to try to fix it and we are trying to find different solutions.
The only alternative would be to upgrade the current RadarBox windows client software with a new version: something that will happen soon but that we don't want to happen just because of this problem.
So work continues and we will let you know when we have more news. rest assured that we giving our best to correct this situation as fast as we can.
-
Thank you airnav for the reply at least you know what
It is silly question is there a idea of time frame
Will it be a couple more weeks
Paul
-
Is this issue actually going to get fixed or not. Been long enough now for your customers to suffer
Instead of relying on your crumbly sever system perhaps you should release a patch that allows users to be able to send alerts/emails using their own servers.
Come on support. Lift your game now
-
As mentioned above in Devs post, we don't want to do that at this stage, we would idealy like to rectify the server and release a new version later with the various changes that have been tested.
-
Guess what. Ideally we would like you to fix the problem. In my opinion your product and more so your support and ability to service your customers is becoming just a joke.
About time you came clean to the extent of the issue and provide your CUSTOMERS the common courtesy and provide us, YOUR CUSTOMERS a timeline to a resolution. Enough of the lame excuses..
If you cant fix your problem then about time you seriously thought about releasing a suitable and workable workaround.
-
We have, finally, good news.
After a long battle with software development companies that we use on our server we found a solution for the bug that caused the Alert feature not to work properly.
We are testing it on our secondary server and if all goes OK we will have the alert feature ready withing 24 hours.
Tks again for all your patience with this issue.
-
We will bring the server down for 1 hour to apply the latest updates and hopefully have the alert feature problem corrected.
-
Have you also fixed the problem with regard to blank thumbnails of aircraft being downloaded ? As of now ,it's still happening !
-
Great newa my alerts working
Paul
-
Alers here also working again. Thanks Aurnav for all the hard work
-
I can't believe it, I've received some alerts!
Hope it stays that way.
-
We really apologize for the long delay in correcting this problem. We don't want to enter any technical details here but it was a long story. Fortunately all OK now. We will now focus on all the other pending items.
-
Dear airnav well done all going well so far
Paul in kent
-
Only half solved so far...
Alerts are only working with my yahoo mail address, but not with my aol mail.
-
Hi Ingo, I've vague recollections of there being problems a long time back with AOL and auto messages - can anyone remember more than me?
-
Thanks, I can also confirm it is working now. I appreciate all the work involved in fixing this!
I would like to suggest as a feature for the next version of the user application (or a service pack...) that you allow a user to use his own mail server if they have one. Perhaps a simple check box with the default to use your server and if the box is checked the user is prompted to enter his mail server info.
This might reduce the load on your server somewhat as well as allowing those of us with the resources and know-how to bypass your server.
-
Hi Ingo, I've vague recollections of there being problems a long time back with AOL and auto messages - can anyone remember more than me?
Maybe, but Alert and Log sending to Aol was working before the big crash. On the other hand, that's the reason why l have concidered to use two mail addresses in the first place.
As for the daily Log I've established a daily routine using my remote access. But anyway it would be great, if it will work with all Mail addresses again.
-
Great to see Airnav reports once again on the mode-s forum

Hello Airnav
Our first log and alert emails since the 5th of January have now come. Many thanks for getting it fixed.
Andrew

Alert ratio from today morning until now:
RB Software generated 21 Alerts. Received: 11 Alert-Mails. --> 52% of generated alerts were received

Log email is working here, but the forum notifications still don't.
Liviu
-
Log email is not working for me. I have hotmail.
-
Sorry meant to say alert email is not working for me. I use hotmail
-
vaca05. I use hotmail also and the log emails are heading into my 'junk' mail box. This used to happen a bit too, but I suspect if you mark it as not junk they will eventually come through into your normal inbox once hotmail realises they aren't 'suspect'.
Hope thats the case for you too...
Mike

The problem regarding blank thumbnails being downloaded has been corrected. Can you check and ensure this is the case please.
Alan

Seems ok at the moment Alan but have only just switched on. Will continue to monitor .
Ian

Thanks Ian, appreciated

Thanks for the confirmation Bat 21

Alan,
Had some newbies on today and can confirm that instead of blank thumbnails appearing which was the case before, picture ones now seem to be downloading ok.
Ian

Cheers Ian, will pass this one
Alan

I have over 3400 blank photos now....not good!!
Is there a quick way I can get those photos back if I know what the REGes are?
(have a list)
-
I have over 3400 blank photos now....not good!!
Is there a quick way I can get those photos back if I know what the REGes are?
Open Explorer, go to the Photo folder (located: \Radarbox\Data\Photo), change view into details. Then sort on the Size column, select all photos that are 1 KB, then delete them.
The correct photo will then populate the next time.
Niklas
-
Thanks Niklas.....Already did all the steps you suggested before you replied. Was planning to get the photos a bit faster than waiting for re-download from server.
-
Clicking the populate button will download quicker than waiting to pick up the aircraft the next time.
Alan
-
Just to say that the following problems would now appear to be rectified :
Proper thumbnails of aircraft and not blanks are being received.
The direct connection from clicking on the thumbnails to the planeplotters site is working. The actual aircraft picture may be different from the one being clicked but the aircraft shown is correct.
The direct connection to the forum via the forum tab is now working. (I haven't had that working for some time).
However, the quotes tab on the forum site is still not working.
Thanks for all the hard work in rectifying the problems.
-
a friend told me that airnav is not allowed to get pictures from planespotters any more.
-
Well they are certainly still coming from that source. Although they seem to be coming from Airliners also which will make some people happy
-
Hi Alan
Clicking the populate button never refreshes my photo's. Is there another step that I'm not aware of maybe?
Also, why are some pictures coming from Airliners.net and some from Planespotters.net? I would like all my pictures to download from Airliners.net. Can I do this?
Paul@cyyb
-
Paul,
As after pressing the populate button The information pop up states "X aircraft updated. Once all pending photos/aircraft information ....etc. I was under the impression photos of aircraft were downloaed in a similar manner to the other info.
I populated yesterday after carrying out a deletion of the blanks as per Niklas and I have photos downloaded with yesterdays date which I assumed came from the populate as I dont have have photos showing on my screen.
Regarding your other query I wouldnt think there would be a way of choosing where your photos come from.
Alan
-
Hi Alan
I also deleted all my 1 kb photo blanks and yes they do populate properly now when the aircraft is contacted again so that is fixed. I emptied all my photos hoping they would now start to populate from Airliners.net and some do but some still come from Planespotters.net. As for the populate and waiting for a refresh well that has never worked. Maybe someday. Oh how I have patiently waited for an update all these years....
Also just to clarify I love the photo's from Planespotters.net but most domestic and regional aircraft on this side of the pond are not available or are so outdated from them. Airliners.net is much better for us over here.
Paul@cyyb

The attachment problem should now be corrected
Alan
