Hi AirNav,
I'm running Windows7 64bit. I have selected 125% text size at a screen resolution of 1680 x 1050. With this text setting I'm unable to see the settings in the bottom of the Preferences box.
It needs to have a method to drag the dimensions of the box so that all the options can be seen at any res/type size.

Hi Tom\ Airnav,
I'm having the same problem with windows 7. Is there any text size or resolution setting, that we can view the settings at the bottom of the preference box. At the moment, i cannot change any of the preferences due to this issue.

Simple solution is to set windows text size back to 100%. Control Panel - All Control Panel Items - Display, and set to 100%.
-
I'm surprised at you Tarbat. I do know how to change the font size - it comes standard at 100% and I changed it to 125% in order to make it easier to read fonts. So I'm well aware how to change it back again.
What I am pointing out is a bug in ANRB. The Preferences window needs the facility to scroll it so one can get to the preferences and the Apply and OK buttons at the bottom when larger than 100% text is selected.
Changing back to 100% involves logging off which means shutting down all applications. Not a very elegant solution.
So how about it AirNav?

Why are you surprised? I was replying to Dub33, not you. He asked "Is there any text size or resolution setting, that we can view the settings at the bottom of the preference box", so I gave him a solution.
Do you have a problem with that?

Hi Guys,
I tried the lower text size and lower screen resolutions, to no avail. I still can't see all the options in the preference box and consequently can't save them.
It looks like its a problem with Windows 7 and laptops that Airnav will have to sort out.Tom is correct, Airnav need to have a method to drag the dimensions of the preference box so that all the options can be seen at any res/type size.
If Airnav don't reply with a solution to this thread in a day or so, i will just send them a request for technical suport..
Thanks for the response Tarbat...

We do read the posts, Dub33 and we are aware of this. It has been noted.
The simple fix has been to change your font to a lower size and this has rectified things. Not sure why its not working for you.
We did in the past change the preference box, so the Ok Apply Buttons where in a separate box at the bottom of a fixed size which could always be seen. This seemed to resolve the issue, we guess certain sizes and resolutions still cause an issue.

Works okay on my Win7 - using the smallest (100%) text size, and 1024x768 screen resolution.
Dub33, what screen resolution and text size are you using?
-
Hi Tarbat\ Airnav,
I've tried a screen res of 1024*768 at text size 75% and 100%, and also at a screen res of1920*1080 and at a text size of 75% and 100%, to no avail..
I'm using a HP Pavilion dv8 laptop with an 18-5 inch screen (HD screen), if this helps..

Hi!
As a quick workround this seems to work:-
http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Miscellaneous/ResizeEnable.shtml
ResizeEnable will let you turn usually non-resizeable windows into resizeable windows.

I have the same problem wih my new ACER Netbook. It can't make any display smaller, only larger. Can't use PREFERENCES. Am using Windows XP. Have e-mailed AirNav, but they don't seem to have a patch/fix. The new version 3 doesn't solve the problem.
-
With a Netbook, all bets are off as they tend to have fairly restrictive screen display options. However, on my 2 Netbooks, I can right click on the desktop and change the screen display to give a scrolling full 'normal' type display, or to display the full screen on the smaller display, although this does result in distortion
-
I'l try that. If it works, I'll let you know.

I have the same problem.
On my netbook.

Guys.
I raised this issue with Support in February when I got my new Dell Studio 17 Win7 64bit with a resolution 1600 x 900. The default font size on this machine is 125% and even when I change to 100% it will not expand the preferences window. The only way to change it is using 'Resizenable' each time I want to change something. What I find interesting is that all the other windows will expand without any issues, it is just the Preferences window that gives me grief.
-
What i have done so far is to use the TAB key to move to the correct place (not that I can see it but) but think the order is APPLY, OK, CANCEL.
After a few attempts I managed to save changes.
Not ideal.

Nice to see you back under at least one other new name; Robbie, Val, Radarspotter, Pat, Sniper, Swordfish etc. Your dredging up of seven month old posts to have a go at me gives you away. You are too thick to contribute anything useful to the forum.
For your info (not that I would expect you to understand) this problem with the Preferences window on large displays has never been addressed by AirNav as evidenced by many other posts on the subject.

Whilst I appreciate that some users may have disagreements with others, it isn't terribly interesting to read posts which in their lowest form equate to simple bitching. I get enough of that from my wife ! AirNav - could you make a new posting forum named Bitchfest (for example), so that users whom feel the need to whine to each other can be excluded from those of us that want to talk about aviation ?
Just an idea..

I completely agree! In my opinion such posting are at least not helpful, but they are definitely a waste of storage resources on each server.

So is the person being got at never to retaliate?
Never mind, I've now got his full ID so next time he'll be getting a visit from some of my friends in Derry, won't you Pat. :0)

For info guys. I had this problem in February and raised it with Airnav then. They still dont seem to have found a fix and it is now nearly October!!!
