Caught this evening transiting the UK was a brand new Mustang on delivery to Spain.

Someone got a picture of it night-stopping in Goose Bay yesterday.

Hi Brimon and welcome to the forum!

Sorry to put a downer on your first post, but are you sure about that? There are some old photos on Airliners.net, where the photos come from. Can you tell us the Mode-S code of the "Mig"?

Unfortunately Rod I am just new to this & was so busy playing about with the thing,& to be honest I don't really know what I should record, that I didn't pay it much attention until I looked in the log on Saturday.I do recall though it was showing as a Polish aircraft.
I know what to look for now though! Thanks for the advice.

The hit on the Polish MIG ties up with F-RADC which is an A310 operating for the French AF.

Thanks Ian,
I am in Lanark area & have spent years looking up.I decided rather than guess what they were & where they were going I would try to track them.
Must admit I though when I bought the box a week or so ago I thought "I'll use it sometimes" ....now I am adicted.
Bought myself an airband scanner & now looking at antennas for both the scanner & airnav, any recommendations gratefully received. The wife is going to end up killing me!

Brimon,

I'm just along the road from you in East Kilbride and, like you, have been spotting for many years. In my case, 40 years.
I have installed in the loft a BS1100 aerial which I purchased from AOR. It came complete with 10m of coax and fittings. It has improved the range greatly. You could try their website www.aoruk.com
I'm sure others will probably have their favourites. If you check back there are several threads on the subject. Just sweeten the wife up with a bunch of flowers now and again and when she calls you for dinner be sure to show willing !

Cheers,

Ian

Ian,the hill at East Kilbride interferes with my view of the last 150Ft of descent into Glasgow airport, any chance you can get the spade out & dig a couple of hundred feet away from blantyre up? No hurry within the next week or two will do.
