GlynH,

Not quite true, we have had almost 500+ installs of 2010 so far and we have had no one emailing support with the the issue mentioned. It does seem as if there is spyware, antirvirus software running which may be blocking the creation of these certain reg keys. We are investigating.

Sorry...what's not quite true?

You might not have had any support emails yet but you have 3 users in this thread reporting the same problem.

In any case I would think that most users would have had a previous installation of ANRB and so not be affected by this issue.

As I said previously on the two machines where I had ANRB installed I don't see this behaviour as it picks up the location data from that same previous install.

On the two machines where I have never installed ANRB I do see the issue.

And I always disable my AV before I install anything...

Regards,

Yes we know its been mentioned by 3 people on the forum but nothing else where. We have have installed on machines without a prior install and it has installed fine, thats why its not quite true.

We are still investigating it.

I did a fresh full install on a Windows 7 Laptop into a C:\Airnav directory
Installs ok but the inputting of home location info prevents any further progress.
I manually enter my lat long and other home data and clicking ok, nothing happens the input box stays open and wont close.
I was connected to the internet at the time, if I then pushed autodetect location button it put in where it thought I was located and then the input box would close and Airnav started with my home location in the Wirral. (I'm in East Anglia)
I then edited my home location with correct data from preferences and all ok and has ben running for 12 hours.

Thanks for the input, Cray725 - at least it proves that the Autodetect Location button has some use - it puts me in London, 200 miles from where I am. Apparently that's pretty accurate by some people's experience!

GlynH were you connected to the internet at the time you were installing Airnav 3.13. I think you have to be connected to the internet for autodetect location to work.

I guess a poll is required to ask those that did a complete fresh install of Airnav Release 3.13 who had problems with entering manually their home location detail and progressing any further! Detailing operating system etc
Most people here I guess would be doing upgrade process from 2.10 or just replacing the ANRB.exe on a 3.XX beta.

As previously mentioned before the fact that there was no version change between the 3.13beta release and the final 3.13 drives me to the same conclusion, that there was no code change between this to releases.

That's why I decided to report the occurred problem here.

After seven and a half day of flawless non-stop running version 3.13beta of the RB software crashed on my Samsung NC10 Netbook running Windows XP(Home) SP3. Unfortunately all the usual XP crash reporting mechanisms also failed.

I did a full Install with copying back my Databases. I will check back again if the problem reoccurs.

I have finally got v3.13 to work on my Vista PC... Here is what I did:

Installed v2.xx first. Full installation and my home location was accepted. Everything worked fine

Then installed the full version v3.13 and started that up. No need to enter the home location and it's up and running. Have copied across the navdata and mylog files, shut down and restarted ANRB a few times and all works fine! But I have noticed fewer network flights compared to v2.xx on my old PC as others have mentioned. Am using the same (supplied) aerial and box at the same location.

But an earlier installation attempt with 2.xx first and then the upgrade exe did NOT work.

Hope this helps anyone with the issue of not accepting the home location

At last someone is saying the same as me about there being fewer network flights!

I am using XP and had version 2 installed.  I installed V3.13 in a seperate directory and on starting up all my settings including home location are already populated and ready to go.

I will say that when inputting my location in version 2 I couldnt get it to accept, maybe wasnt using decimal. to get it accepted and I had to go to my location on the map, right clicked and set it to home location that way.

V3.13 is an official release, rather than being a Beta (test) version of the software.

I have encountered an interesting issue.  I'm receiving a mode-S code of 503147 which is a wrong code for N202FR Frontier Airlines A320.  I have updated my DB manually, but I still keep getting this code without the info being filled in.  Any ideas why that is?

I too are missing some network flights, yesterday the network count never went
above 800 over a 3hr. period, On first installing V3 i couldnt get any network flights at all, im also finding my live flight numbers going up then the total dropping down by approx 15%. Also noticed a lot with no reg. showing especially
Easy Jet.
